How do I...Server owners
Fill in the Riders Encyclopedia for everyone
Show every entry from the start, change how close a mount must come to be discovered, or turn off the discovery note.
Each player’s Riders Encyclopedia fills in as they come across mounts in the game. Its rules are in fantasy-server.toml:
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
revealAll |
false |
Every entry is filled in from the start, as a plain guide. Discoveries are still recorded |
discoveryRange |
16 |
How close, in blocks, a mount must come in plain sight to be discovered. Touching, riding or taming one always counts |
discoveryHint |
true |
Tell players above the hotbar when they discover a mount, with the key that opens the encyclopedia |
While quests are on, an entry also keeps some of its pages (where a mount lives, how to tame and breed it, its abilities and stats) until the player finishes one of its quests. lockEncyclopedia under [quests] turns that off.
To fill in or empty entries for particular players, use the encyclopedia commands.
The same encyclopedia, with every mount in 3D, is on this website: Riders Encyclopedia.

quests.lockEncyclopedia#
Keep a mount's Riders Encyclopedia entry to what anyone who met one could tell (its picture, name, description, temperament, size and riders, and the player's own field notes) until the player finishes one of the mount's quests: where it lives, how to tame and breed it, how it rides, its abilities and stats open then. How to tame one opens early once a quest asks the player to tame one. Mounts without quests, or switched off, show in full, and nothing is held back while quests are off or encyclopedia.revealAll is on.
