How do I...Your game

Make mounts quieter

Each kind of sound the mod makes has its own volume, from mounts' calls to the whistle and the dialogue voice.

The mod’s sounds follow Minecraft’s own sliders: mounts are under Friendly Creatures, the whistle under Players. On top of those, fantasy-client.toml has a volume for each kind of sound. 1.0 is full volume and 0 is silent.

[audio]
    # Neighs, roars and chirps now and then, and wild mounts' howls.
    mountCalls = 0.4
    # Steps, wings, jumps, hurt cries and abilities.
    mountSounds = 1.0
    # The Mount Whistle.
    whistle = 1.0
    # Level-ups, learned skills and the shiny chime.
    milestones = 1.0
    # Clicks and page turns in the mod's screens.
    interface = 1.0
    # The soft voice of the dialogue box.
    dialogue = 0.0

Most players who find mounts noisy only need to lower mountCalls: those are the sounds mounts make on their own, now and then.

A shiny mount plays a chime and a burst of sparkles when it comes into view. Lower milestones to quieten the chime, or set reveal to false under [shiny] to turn the whole reveal off.

The server sets how loud the whistle is for everyone (whistle.soundVolume in fantasy-server.toml). Your own whistle volume scales that for you.

fantasy-client.toml

audio.mountCalls#

Mounts' calls: the neighs, roars and chirps they make now and then, and wild mounts' howls and trumpeting.

NumberDefault 1From 0 to 1

audio.mountSounds#

Everything else mounts make themselves: steps, wings, jumps, hurt cries, their abilities and what wild mounts get up to. A dying mount's last cry and an ability's hit far off keep the game's own volume.

NumberDefault 1From 0 to 1

audio.whistle#

The Mount Whistle (the server sets how loud it is for everyone; this scales it for you).

NumberDefault 1From 0 to 1

audio.milestones#

Level-ups, learned skills and skill resets, and the chime of a shiny mount.

NumberDefault 1From 0 to 1

audio.interface#

Clicks and page turns in the mod's screens.

NumberDefault 1From 0 to 1

audio.dialogue#

The soft voice the dialogue box gives a line as it writes it out (0 writes in silence).

NumberDefault 1From 0 to 1

shiny.reveal#

Play a chime and a burst of sparkles when a shiny mount comes into view.
