How do I...Server owners

Let friends ride your mounts

Owners can trust friends from the mount screen; the server decides whether trusted players, or anyone, may drive.

A tamed mount belongs to the player who tamed it. Who else may take its reins is a rule the server sets, in fantasy-server.toml.

The trusted list

Owners trust other players from the mount’s own screen, in its Trusted riders tab: type the name of a player who is online, or pick someone seen nearby. A trusted player may open the mount’s saddlebags. Whether they may also drive depends on the rule below.

Who may drive

[riding]
    # OWNER, TRUSTED or ANYONE.
    riderPermission = "TRUSTED"
Value Who may take the driver’s seat
OWNER (the default) Only the owner
TRUSTED The owner and the players on that mount’s trusted list
ANYONE Anyone at all

So to let friends ride, set riderPermission to "TRUSTED", then each owner trusts the friends they choose. Set trustedRiders to false to hide the trusted list entirely: it is then ignored, whatever it holds.

Passengers and pets

Mounts with more than one seat carry passengers. nonPlayerPassengers lets tamed pets and villagers sit in seats that allow them. To cap how many riders one kind of mount carries, set maxRiders in that mount’s section (0 means as many as it has seats):

[mounts.war_mammoth]
    maxRiders = 2

The settings

Each with what it does, its default and the values it takes. Copy a line, or change them all in the Settings Workbench.
