Control where mounts fly
Turn flight off, keep it to some dimensions, cap the height and speed, and stop riders escaping a fight by air.
Flight rules are in the [flight] section of fantasy-server.toml. They only restrict: a mount that can’t fly never flies.
Where mounts may fly
[flight]
# Allow mounts to fly at all.
enabled = true
# Dimensions where mounts may fly.
allowedDimensions = ["minecraft:overworld", "minecraft:the_end"]
By default mounts fly in the Overworld and the End, and walk in the Nether. To allow the Nether, add "minecraft:the_nether". A dimension from another mod is named by its id (for example "modid:dimension_name"); until you add it, flying mounts walk there.
How high and how fast
maxAltitudeis the highest Y a flying mount climbs to (320 by default).maxSpeedcaps every flyer’s speed, in blocks per tick (1.8 by default). Raising it far past that can outrun the server loading the world ahead of riders.
To make flyers faster or slower without changing the cap, scale flightSpeed under [stats] in fantasy-balance.toml. A mount is still held to maxSpeed.
In a fight
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
combatLockoutSeconds |
Seconds a rider can’t take off after another player hurts them (10). 0 turns it off |
fallDamageOnStall |
A flyer that runs out of stamina takes fall damage when it lands |
deathSlowFallSeconds |
Slow falling given to riders when their mount dies in the air (10 seconds). 0 gives none |
